Butch Ray, RPh, grew up in Jena, Louisiana. He completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. In December 1978, he graduated from the University of Monroe with a Bachelor of Science. A few years after graduation, Butch opened his own pharmacy, Ray’s Pharmacy, in Ball, Louisiana in 1982. In 2000, Ray’s expanded into Alexandria with a second location, Ray’s Apothecary Pharmacy, at Cabrini Hospital which was consolidated in 2015, when he opened their Versailles location. In 2019, the latest addition to the Ray’s Pharmacy family was added with a pharmacy in Tioga. In addition to the traditional services of a pharmacist, Butch’s areas of pharmacy care include: custom compounding for people and pets, nursing home pharmacy services, and helping patients manage their therapies in their homes.
In his spare time, Butch enjoys riding horses, playing golf, and traveling. He is the proud father of three daughters and grandfather of two granddaughters. His pharmacy customers become an extension of his family and he and his staff pride themselves in delivering the kind of personal service each and every Ray’s customer deserves.
