What are Nebulizers?

What are Nebulizers?

If you have Asthma or Bronchitis, nebulizers will help you breathe more easily. Nebulizers are used mostly by infants and children but by the elderly as well. As you take nebulizer medication it will help to break up the mucus in the lungs and clear the airways.

What Symptoms can Nebulizers Treat?

Nebulizers can treat wheezing or shortness of breath as well as coughing. Nebulizers are used to treat COPD in the elderly. If you have a nebulizer at home, and you notice the symptoms you can start treatment right away. You will already have it nearby so you can call your doctor for a new prescription or get an express prescription refill if your medicine has run out. We recommend buying a nebulizer before you are sick so that you will not need to travel while ill.

Are Nebulizers Covered by Insurance?

Most insurances will cover a nebulizer, but you can purchase one over the counter at our medical supply stores. We accept all Medicaid plans, and Medicaid will cover 100% of the cost of a nebulizer. Medicare, if you have a secondary, may or may not cover the cost of a nebulizer especially if you have not already met your deductible. Medicare may also require you to place a 13-month rental for the nebulizer. However, nebulizers cost around $30 and are affordable even without insurance.

Are there nebulizers for Children?

We do stock nebulizers featuring bunnies, dogs and firetrucks for babies and children. Nebulizers can scare some babies and children because it makes noise, so we try to stock the models made for babies.

Why do you Recommend Ray’s Pharmacy?

Because we are not a chain pharmacy. When you come into a Ray’s Pharmacy store you will be treated like family. Many of our staff members grew up together and treat customers like they are one of us. If you have any questions about the nebulizers you are welcome either call or stop by the store to see our stock of nebulizers and other medical supplies.
